My walk in Council

8 March 2007!

(all their birthdays are on 7th march, so happy belated, hehe!)

COUNCIL:
i was thinking maybe i should talk about my council walk and how God really bless me with loads of things. Being in council, actually its quite a blessing in disguise. you learn alot and change you totally.

SECONDARY 1:

I dont know how on earth did i become a councillor in sec 1. i was like one of the naugtiest in class and i really mean naughtiest. i just talk back to mr malvin chan... etc. i really think i changed alot as in when i enter fairfield i was super quiet and SHY. i emphasize on the word SHY. actually not really but yes, more shy. then i changed and became super nuaghty. my friends sabotaged me and so i went for the interview. During probation period, i was like so naughty but i still remained in council. It's just God's plan for me perhaps.

SECONDARY 2:

I was a sicko man, i think. all thanks to the influence of my classmates such as tai, mark lim, derek...all the guys.then i was quite corrupted. a lot of ugly things if i say so i shall not say what i did in sec 2 but i was really corrupted. luckily in sec 2, we didnt have review for councillors, so i managed to get through. and its really God's amazing plan for me. i was in mentoring anyway.

SECONDARY 3:

it was really tiring man. I begin to know what i want in council. and how much trngs we've gone through just to make us and mould us in becoming a good leader. then i begin to realise what exactly is moral courage...etc. and what it is to scold someone with improper attire and dare to do what you think its correct. its not easy, seriously. especially telling your own peers not to eat on class, its terrible. one day if i think i cannot take it, i should just scream or cry, out of frustration. then they wont do it again. But i think i stepped out quite alot, considering i was a corrupted councillor in sec 2. it was really a big jump. the one that reminds me most is charity sales at primary school. it was quite fun, doing all the flour stuff and playing with it. haha! i still remained in mentoring.

SECONDARY 4:

finally rised up to be the head of my department, projects. its no easy man. im struggling with alot of things but it is seemingly fun. especially with fundraising, my first successful project i think. then i realise the satisfaction of it. how it is to work and produce results at the end of the day. then i can link this to singapore. How the government actually work and reaping the fruits of the labour but teenagers nowadays are so irrespobsible in their own behavior i think. actually not only teenagers, but generally, ppl are never contented with what they have which is quite sad. council revamped, in projects (:

Orientations has always been a highlight for council but surprisingly and sadly, it wasnt for me this year though every other year was quite fun.maybe because i did disciplinary this year. which i didnt enjoy myself...

This was also taken during orientation, it was quite fun cos everyone shun except me, cos i rather they take nice photos then candid shots.

Then im going to miss doing duties, wearing high heels, blazers...etc, all of them, doing carpark duty, playing with walkie talkies... etc! all of the fun that we have. like duty duty with bb or ncc, where they talk a whole lot of crap into the walkie talkie such as buying curry puff. haha!

In another 3 months or so, i've to step down as a student council. i'll be off my duty. it maybe a good thing because i will be able to concentrate on my o'levels. but i think it would be quite sad especially when you firge many bonds in council and the you have to leave soon, the sec 2s on my department and sec 3s. In sec 3, you will always want to quit council because you feel that its not helping you in any way and your studies are affected. i think sec 3 is planned out for me to fail. but i learnt alot.And one of the most memorable thing is going ipoh with the amin com and ncc ppl. it was really really fun. i really got to widen my circle of friends and know Joy sim better. which i totally love her (: Being in the main com is such a privilege. please, im not boasting here.

therefore i would like to urge every single one of the councillors to press on, with God being your provider and ask him to renew your strength!

For the student body,be a councillor if you can because its really a good experience for you to go through but dont ever give up half way.and please cooperate with the student councillors. its never easy having the courage to go up to someone and ask them not to do certain things. some just shout at you and they are ONLY SEC1 WHILE YOU ARE SEC4. i feel so... argh. sicko. well.. part and parcel of life!

This just goes to show how much God loves me and what he wants for me (:
